The Shell Seekers

A book worth savoring - Toni Rocchetti reviews A 997 page book not long enough.

A 997 page book not long enough…

The size of this book was daunting as hell at first. Once I got to the last 100 pages I was dreading its ending.

A summary that doesn’t even begin to describe it but you shouldn’t read a longer one: Against the backdrop of an elegant Cornwall mansion before World War II and a vast continent-spanning canvas during the turbulent war years, this envolving story tells of an extraordinary young woman’s coming of age, coming to grips with love and sadness, and in every sense of the term, coming home…

Just remember that the most important thing is to be truthful to yourself. If you hang on to that, you wont go far wrong.

This amazing book is: -Coming of age -Reflection-based -Character-driven -Slow-build but so much happens! -Epistolary novel -WWII from afar

I don’t think I’ve ever read a longer book. I loved this book so much. Pilcher has a way with a words that wraps you up in the coziest freaking blanket. The narration was perfectly fitting, the accent worked so well. I cozied up with a cup of either coffee or tea and closed out the world and lost myself in Pilcher’s world and it was a beautiful thing. This one edged out Winter Solstice by a hair. To add to the pleasure of reading this book was reading it almost completely in sync with Katie @ because this book brought ALL THE FEELS and to have someone to constantly text back and forth with was so fun and special. It is safe to say we are #pilcher and I can’t wait to read another together!

So what are you waiting for, get a Pilcher on your list!
