Pilcher perfect…
Summary - Newly married but convalescing after an operation, Laura Haverstock is forced to stay behind when her husband, Alec, departs on his annual sojourn to Scotland. So it is to Tremenheere–his family’s cottage on the Cornish coast–where she goes to rest. Secrets brought to light about Alec’s daughter, about jealous rivalries spawning malicious rumors and about Tremenheere’s power dispel her fears and bring her to understand the source of true love.
How Katie @ and I pick our Pilcher’s is pretty simple: title that sounds like the season we’re in Voices in Summer seemed like a perfect way to round out this wonderful season. The more books by her that we read we are starting to recognize how she practiced plot points in her older books and fine tuned them for her larger and later books, such a talent. We’ve read 4 of her bigger books and 2 of her smaller ones. Of the smaller one this one was better than Wild Mountain Thyme. It had the great descriptions and characters we’ve grown to love and also some fun drama! Looking forward to our next.
How’s your July going reading or otherwise? I’ve had 3 DNFs so far but what I’ve actually read has been fantastic!
