Author Appreciation Post…
March 2019 - one of my early bud reads was Hum If You Don’t Know the Words and still semi new-ish to bookstagram. Bianca came to our final chat and answered questions and discussed Hum with us. Couldn’t believe this space existed where we just chat with authors!
May 2019 - received an ARC of If You Want to Make God Laugh and read with some of the people from the Hum group. Second time I was blown away by Bianca’s writing.
July 2019 - go to a local book event where Bianca is speaking and listen in awe. Oh, and have drinks with her and other bookstagrammers afterwards
Since then Bianca and I chat here and there to a point that I’d consider her a friend. A favorite author turned friend, is this real life?
2022 - Bianca decides to be even more awesome and writes a short story outside of her typical genre just to keep us readers on our toes. Here is a brief summary of the awesomeness I just inhaled:
This is a short but powerful story about a ian future where society has been convinced that everything a person is worth can be calculated and predicated by stu their genes. When people dare to become pregnant without approval, the unborn child (called a viper) is put on trial by people that science predicts will be impacted (positively and negatively) by the child during his or her life.
A full cast narrates this highly-engaging short story that reads like a play (futuristic Crucible vibes).
Bottom line: I WILL READ ANYTHING BIANCA MARIAS EVER WRITES.
If you’re looking for a shorter, propulsive audiobook to inhale - look no further.
