Mistakes Were Made

A book worth savoring - Toni Rocchetti reviews Mistakes Were Made.

Sometimes we have to do things that make us uncomfortable for people we love.

Summary - When Cassie Klein goes to an off-campus bar to escape her schools Family Weekend, she isnt looking for a hookupit just happens. Buying a drink for a stranger turns into what should be an uncomplicated, amazing one-night stand. But then the next morning rolls around and her friend drags her along to meet her momthe hot, older woman Cassie slept with.

My favorite thing about Mistakes Were Made was the mom character. She’s recently gone through a divorce and is trying to navigate her new life while also trying really hard to mend the relationship with her daughter who is a freshman in college. I loved seeing her growth and how she finally decided to tap into what actually makes her genuinely happy.

BUT holy steam. I am not one to shy away from steam (hello, Before I Let Go) but this one was steamy scene after steamy scene after steamy scene. Reviews for this one are overall really positive so maybe that’s what the people want but for me it took away from the story. I enjoyed the ending so I’m not bummed that I finished it but if you’re interested in the premise of this one just be prepared for a LOT of steam.

Before I Let Go by Kenne Ryan has set the bar so high and will probably be the benchmark for all romances I read from here on out
