Ok, Mr. Neil Patrick Harris

This was our third summer family read-aloud and it has been my favorite so far My son says he can’t pick a favorite because he’s loved them all - so I’m considering that a win.

Summary - After a fateful encounter with the local purveyor of illusion, Dante Vernon, Carter teams up with five other like-minded illusionists. Together, using both teamwork and magic, they’ll set out to save the town of Mineral Wells from Bosso’s villainous clutches.

Not only was the plot absolutely fun and adorable but Neil Patrick Harris narrates the audio and HE WAS FANTASTIC! It was the kind of audio that sucks you in: it had singing, sound effects, bigger than life voices for the characters, ah, it was just awesome.

If you are looking for a fun middle grade book (go with the audio, you will not be disappointed) I highly recommend Magic Misfits - and it’s also a series so we will DEFINITELY be continuing with this one
