My Developmental editing journey continues…

Yes, this book is about writing but what is a developmental editors job? To help authors with their manuscripts. So it is helpful to understand the craft in ways I haven’t previously learned.

Summary - Jessica Bro Save the Cat! Writes a Novel is a story-structuring guide that adapts the popular 15-beat “Blake Snyder Beat Sheet” for novelists. The book provides a practical, step-by-step blueprint for plotting a compelling story with a strong character arc, addressing common novel-writing challenges like pacing and structuring multi-book series.

This book was so interesting. Seeing so many popular books broken down was so eye opening and I learned so much about crafting a novel.

The next book I’ll be reading for my course is called The Emotional Craft of Fiction: How to Write the Story Beneath the Surface – I can’t wait for it because it is what makes my favorite books my favorite!
