I love reading Carley Fortune on the beach. 🏖️
I know I’m safe in her hands. I’ve loved some of her books more than others, but I’ve never hated or been disappointed by a single one — and there’s something wonderful about that as a reader. When you’re packing for vacation and you want the sure thing, the author you can hand your limited reading hours to without a second thought, that trust is worth a lot.
Our Perfect Storm was no exception. I enjoy a friends-to-lovers storyline and I enjoy a second-chance romance, so I had a feeling going in that this one was for me — and it was.
The surprise bonus: it sent me down a rabbit hole about its setting. I had to look up Tofino, British Columbia, and oh my goodness. It’s now firmly on my list of places to see in person. That’s one of my favorite things a book can do — introduce you to a new-to-you spot and make you want to go stand in it.
Don’t you love when a book does that? 🌊
